COPE currently has three research projects running:

• A plan to present several pieces of research at the Sixth International Congress on Peer Review and Biomedical Publication in September 2009 in Vancouver, Canada. This research will follow on from COPE's presentation at the last Peer Review Congress in Chicago in September 2005, the abstract for which can be found here and the Powerpoint presentation found here.
• A collaboration between COPE and CrossRef on its CrossCheck initiative to research plagiarism.
• A Grant Scheme, the details of which are here.
